Dr. Selena Ramkeesoon Named Co-President of Ellevate Network Washington, DC Chapter

DualStar LLC’s CEO and Founder, Dr. Selena Ramkeesoon, was recently selected to serve as Co-President of the Washington, DC Chapter for the Ellevate Network, a global organization headquartered in New York and the largest community of women+ at work. Ellevate is a powerful coalition of ambitious and supportive women who believe there is strength in numbers. It also works with companies committed to diversity and inclusion and has a proven track record of changing business culture from the inside out.
Ramkeesoon brings over 20 years of experience in global communications, marketing, and management consulting. Previously, she was the chapter’s Membership Director.

She noted, “nationally, working women are experiencing a devastating employment crisis. More than 2.3 million women have left the labor force since last February. Since our chapter has been affected, members can expect new, interactive programming and enhanced networking opportunities.”
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Ramkeesoon was Vice President and Corporate Officer at global consulting firms, leading multimillion-dollar portfolios with teams of up to 100 staff. She was a senior leader for international mergers and acquisitions, global business development, and strategist for programs in the U.S., Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean.
Ramkeesoon is Adjunct Faculty with the American University Kogod School of Business and the University of Maryland Global Campus. She frequently speaks on diversity, equity, and inclusion, marketing, communications, and online learning and engagement best practices.
She earned her Doctor of Management degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus, holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Library Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, a BA in History and Government from the University of the West Indies, and is PMP-certified.
